This past Friday my sister, Emily, and I attended our fifth Portland Showcase of Wine and Cheese at the Convention Center. We started going because we love wine and cheese (but to be honest, mostly wine). The first year was so much fun that we've made it a tradition to go every year. It's a benefit for the Boy's and Girl's Club, which is an awesome non-profit organization. A few of our nieces and nephews have needed their local Boy's and Girl's Club.
Each year there are tons of wine vendors, and there's also plenty of cheese and other yummy food. Some of the Boy's and Girl's Club volunteers even pour the wine. There's a big silent auction, which is fun to browse even if you don't bid. There's also a live auction, although we've never paid any attention to that. I highly recommend going, it's well worth the $40.

Here we are on the balcony during the 5 minutes it didn't rain, what an amazing city view! |
